In an area of 1,47, 181 sq. k.m., Nepal has a total of 2, 31, 51, 423 people ( 2001). Although this country has lots of potential to develop, at present the education scenario in Nepal is not very bright as compared to it's neighboring countries. The enrollment rate at pre- primary and primary level is only 46%. It is 45.2% in lower secondary level, 44.3% in secondary level, 38.5% in higher secondary level and 27.6% at institutes of higher education. There are 5 stages in the structure of the education system in Nepal if we exclude the pre primary level. Primary education in Nepal starts at the age of 5 and lasts for 5 years. From sixth to the 8th standard, one is at the low secondary level. The secondary (9th & 10th) and higher secondary (11th & 12th) levels are of 2 years duration. After successfully completing the higher secondary level one can move up for higher study.

Education system in nepal
Bordered by China to the north and India to the south, east and west, Nepal is a landlocked Himalayan country in South Asia. After a long period of political turmoil, Nepal is now set to walk the path of progress and development. The education system in Nepal would have to play a very important role in making the country developed in all aspects of life.

Society education
Academic freedom has long been a core principle of NCSS. In a position statement of 2007, our organization emphasized that “The democratic process involves the ability to freely discuss ideas and values that exist in our society and in other countries. Without this ability in our secondary and higher-level institutions, our democracy would disappear. That is why it is so important to protect the academic rights of teachers and students” (p. 334 of this issue).
Most of the contents of this edition are devoted to the issue of academic freedom. The guest editors, Nancy C. Patterson and Jack L. Nelson, provide their own foreword on page 297, but I would like to complement it with some words about the importance of the contributions they have assembled.

Importances of education
The day that changed my life and made me realize I better go back to school and get my college education, was a day that altered my life forever.
I was working in a warehouse for a popular gourmet store called Citerella, in Manhattan. It was not one of the best jobs I've ever had, but at the time it had paid the bills. The hours were long, the work sweaty and dirty, but at least it was a Monday through Friday schedule and I could enjoy the weekends off. The warehouse itself was a dark, windowless faculty with not a decent ventilation system. The warehouse had a certain smell of mildew to it, which took me sometime to shake the smell of even when I was off and on my way home. If only the wealthy people of the Upper East Side who happened to be the clientele of this store knew about the conditions of this warehouse, I am sure they would not want to shop there.
There was an additional condition that existed that I failed to mention and that was the unceasing rodent problem. In the beginning of my employment at the warehouse it took some getting accustomed to seeing the occasional mouse scurrying around or stuck

Differences between high school education & college education
A typical course load in high school includes more than 30 hours of classroom instruction, but 12 to 15 hours is considered a full load in college. The reason for this is that college courses typically require two to three hours of preparation for each hour spent in the classroom. Students are expected to come to class having already studied the material, so that more information can be covered each semester than is possible in a typical high school setting. The vast majority of college students are adults (i.e, over 18 years old), whereas almost all high school students are adolescents. This means that college students will have more competing responsibilities -- such as jobs and families -- than high school students. It also means, however, that college students are typically self motivated and more able to take responsibility for their own learning.
Among the adults in college are some -- often known as "non-traditional" or "returning" -- students who are older than the typical student who has recently completed high school. These students often face special challenges as they balance family and job responsibilities with school, especially if they have not been in an academic environment for a number of years. In many cases, however, they make special contributions to the classes they take, as they model a strong commitment to learning while sharing insights they have gained from added life experience.

Health education
Health education is in the news; it is a high-profile topic for national government, local authorities, health authorities, and educational agencies. Yet budgets are often tight, and with public interest in the subject growing all the time, responsible groups have to be seen to be promoting health and awareness and improving conditions and facilities throughout the community in line with the evidence base. Health Education plays a crucial role in the development of a healthy, inclusive and equitable social, psychological and physical environment. It reflects current best practice, using an empowering, multi-dimensional, multi-professional approach which relates to all settings, organizations, and parts and levels of society, including schools, colleges, universities, the health services, the community and the workplace.
Sex education
Sex education is an international refereed journal concerned both with the practice of sex education and with the thinking that underpins it.
Contributions are welcomed from within a variety of academic disciplines - particularly health education, sociology, philosophy and psychology - and from a variety of ideological standpoints. Submitted work should connect significantly with issues concerned with sex education and have presumptions made by the author(s) described and defended.
Sex Education does not assume that sex education takes place only in educational institutions and the family. Contributions are therefore welcomed which, for example, analyse the impacts of media and other vehicles of culture on sexual behaviour and attitudes. Medical and epidemiological papers (e.g. of trends in the incidences of sexually transmitted infections) will not be accepted unless their educational implications are discussed adequately.

old people education
Older people must be given more chances to learn if they are to contribute to society rather than be a financial buThe vast majority of our education budget is spent on people below the age of 25. When people are changing their jobs, homes, partners and lifestyles more often than ever, they need opportunities to learn at every age."rden, according to a new study on population published today. People need opportunities to make a"midlife review" to adjust to the later stages of employed life, and to plan for the transition to retirement, which may now happen unpredictably at any point from 50 to over 90, says McNair, a member of the IfLL secretariat. And there should be more money available to support people in establishing a sense of identity and finding constructive roles for the "third age", the 20 or more years they will spend in healthy retired life.
